A North-east organics recycling firm is sponsoring a local youth cycling team as it gears up for a national race.
Keenan Recycling, based in New Deer, Aberdeenshire, is sponsoring the Aberdeen and District Cycling Association’s Youth Racing Team as it prepares for the Youth Tour of Scotland, a three-day race around Perth.
The team is made up of four cyclists, all aged between 15 and 16 years old from around the Aberdeenshire area. Keenan’s sponsorship has provided a new kit for each rider, including branded jackets and uniforms, which the cyclists will wear during their race.
Keenan Recycling transforms food and garden waste from local Scottish authorities and North-east businesses into British Standard Industry accredited compost.
Keenan Recycling Director Gregor Keenan is an avid cyclist and was eager to support the young team.
Mr Keenan said:
“We at Keenan Recycling are honoured to partner with the Youth Racing Team. This is a great cause to encourage young riders and, as a cyclist myself, I had a keen interest in helping out the club. Everyone at Keenan wishes them the best in the upcoming race.”
The Youth Tour of Scotland is a full-stage cycle race that will take place in and around Perth from 6-8 April.
