The managing director of an award winning North-east organics recycling company has joined the board of Aberdeen and Grampian Chamber of Commerce (AGCC).
Grant Keenan, of Keenan Recycling, which is based in New Deer, Aberdeenshire, has been formally appointed as a director on the AGCC board.
Mr Keenan, who is currently a board member of Enterprise North East Trust, and also chairs the Organic Recycling Group Scotland, which is part of REA (Renewable Energy Association), will join 12 other notable business figures on the AGCC board.
Mr Keenan said:
“I am honoured to be invited to join the board of Aberdeen and Grampian Chamber of Commerce, as the company provides advocacy on key business and economic issues to a range of governments, agencies and other stakeholders through links at national and international level.
In my role on the board my main focus will be to give guidance on environmental issues affecting businesses across Scotland.”
The Chamber offers its business members training and networking opportunities, and also gives access to a range of benefits including HR and legal advice, foreign exchange discounts, and export documentation.
Keenan Recycling recently invested in food waste depackaging equipment to aid supermarkets with their food waste recycling targets and is planning to purchase a further three collection vehicles within the next month. The company collects food waste from as far South as Stonehaven to Tain in the North.
